According to the National Autistic Society, 64% of autistic people avoid going to the shops as things can seem "too much". We want to make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable at The Galleria and as such we have introduced a weekly 'Quiet Hour', 11am - 12pm every Sunday morning. 'Quiet Hour' launched Sunday 7th April 2019 as part of National Autism Week and recurrs every Sunday.
During 'Quiet Hour' The Galleria main malls and our stores our will be; reducing noise and any noisy equipment being used, turning off or down unnecessary music/TVs/Radio's, turning off/dimming unnecessary lighting, educating staff about autism and how to deal or help with a difficult situation should it arise. Posters will be displayed on the malls to make customers aware of 'Quiet Hour'.
We are also offering Hidden Disability Lanyards, for those of you that may require additional assistance throughout our stores, restaurants and in general as you enjoy a day out at our centre. Whether for you or your child, these free lanyards can be collected at our Customer Services Desk, and will help to ensure you receive the best possible service during your visit.
We're here to help everyone enjoy their experience. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
