Herts Young Homeless
The Galleria has selected Herts Young Homeless as its local charity partner. Located close to Hatfield Town Centre, Herts Young Homeless is a local charity whose focus is to prevent homelessness amongst young and vulnerable people in Hertfordshire from education in schools and mediation for families in crisis, through to providing emergency accommodation for a young person in a volunteer’s home or supporting adults who have mental health needs and housing issues.
A roof over our head and the support of a loving family is something many of us take for granted but right now hundreds of people in Hertfordshire are facing the realities of homelessness.
Last year, Herts Young Homeless (hyh) worked with over 2,000 vulnerable people who were homeless or at risk of becoming so, providing vital support and helping them get their lives back on track.
hyh’s services empower young people to be able to deal with the difficult situations in their lives, give them the ability and confidence to ‘do it themselves’ and ultimately find stability.
“I feel like you didn’t give up on me like everyone else. People can see I’ve changed”
Just £25 can give a vulnerable young person a safe, warm place to stay for the night, a listening ear and ‘breathing space' to work through their options.
