Overview
We are seeking a motivated and creative Engineering & Technical Services Apprentice to join The Galleria. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical engineering work and creative design, with an interest in architecture, interiors, building services, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Duties
- Assist with building systems operations (HVAC, electrical, fire systems, plumbing).
- Help with inspections, maintenance checks and statutory compliance tasks.
- Support asset management, logging and documentation.
Design, Architecture & Interior Support
- Produce sketches, drawings, concept layouts and visuals for improvements on-site.
- Assist with architectural ideas for mall spaces, units, kiosks, signage and interior upgrades.
- Support design proposals aligned with placemaking and retail improvements.
Project & Contractor Coordination
- Help prepare scopes of work, quotations and tender comparisons.
- Assist in managing contractors on-site, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Support project tracking, snagging and completion documentation.
- Attend project meetings and assist with reporting.
Operational Support
- Assist the Technical Services Manager with daily tasks and planning.
- Update maintenance logs, compliance folders and contractor records.
- Support procurement and organisation of tools, materials and equipment.
Skills & Qualities Required
- Strong interest in architecture, interior design, or building engineering.
- Good design ability (hand sketches or software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva).
- Willingness to learn engineering systems and facilities operations.
- Clear communication skills for working with teams and contractors.
- Organised, proactive, adaptable and able to take initiative.
- Comfortable with both office and hands-on site tasks.
Qualifications
- Architecture Apprenticeship or a related built-environment apprenticeship preferred.
- Alternatively: GCSEs/A-Levels or equivalent in engineering, design, construction or technical subjects.
- No prior experience required — full training will be provided.
