Striving for Unity | New Exhibition at The Galleria for South Asian Heritage Month
This
July,
the
Khalsa
Youth
Football
Academy
is
bringing
a
special
pop-up
exhibition
to
The
Galleria.
Running
from
the
1st
to
the
31st
of
July,
between
10am
and
6pm,
the
Striving
for
Unity
exhibition
offers
a
unique
look
into
cultural
heritage,
community
resilience,
and
the
power
of
sport.
The
initiative,
led
by
Bal
Singh,
showcases
over
three
decades
of
work
by
the
Khalsa
FA.
Developed
in
collaboration
with
the
ACE-accredited
Garden
City
Collection,
the
display
highlights
how
a
local
futsal
club
transformed
into
a
national
and
international
symbol
of
togetherness,
actively
challenging
racism,
and
inequality.
Visitors
can
explore
a
mix
of
personal
stories,
photography,
memorabilia,
and
interactive
displays.
These
pieces
reflect
the
lived
experiences
of
academy
members
and
the
wider
community,
illustrating
how
sport
serves
as
a
force
for
social
change
and
identity.
As
part
of
the
South
Asian
Heritage
Month
celebrations,
the
exhibition
honours
the
history
and
contributions
of
South
Asian
communities
in
Hertfordshire
and
beyond.
It
is
an
invitation
to
reflect
on
the
past
while
inspiring
future
generations
to
continue
building
inclusive
and
connected
communities.
